If you use WordPress, the new version 5.0 is going to change the way you work. Code-named Gutenberg after the famous printer Johannes Gutenberg, the new WordPress editor has given up the decades-old look of a 1990’s word processor in favor of a block-creation method.

If you are a WordPress newbie, this is great news! It makes creating content in WordPress easier than ever. However, for stodgy, old WordPress users like ourselves, the new editor is shockingly different. However, after watching several online tutorials and actually working with the new interface, we were successful in creating this post. The big change will come when we try to use existing Widgets, content, and plug-ins on some of our existing sites. There are reports of these items not playing well with the newest version of WordPress. So, we may have to redesign or workaround problems that crop up.
And one last caveat…if you use a WordPress hosting platform, your WordPress may get automatically updated by your host. If you haven’t been keeping up on your widgets and plug-ins, you may find your site broken. So keep tabs on your updates and be diligent in keeping things up-to-date.
